You might be wondering — why did I shave my head?
The answer lies in love, tradition, and a promise I made the day my little one was born.
In our culture, tonsuring (head shaving) is often done as an offering — a symbolic gesture of gratitude, surrender, or spiritual renewal. When my daughter was born, I vowed that I would shave my head alongside her during her first mundan (head tonsuring) ceremony. Not because I had to — but because I wanted her to know that we’re in this together. Every milestone, every step.
It’s more than hair.
It’s a moment of connection.
Of letting go.
Of embracing new beginnings.
She smiled when she saw me bald. And in that moment, I knew — this was the right choice. For her. For me. For us.
If you’ve ever thought of doing something bold out of love — this is your sign.
