🔥 CHAPTER 1 — Midnight Reset
The notification came at exactly 12:00 AM.
I almost ignored it.
Another useless alert, I thought. Probably a transaction message or some spam from the bank.
But something felt wrong.
Too quiet.
The kind of quiet that makes your ears ring.
My phone lit up the ceiling as I reached for it.
“Your account balance has been updated.”
I frowned.
“Updated? At midnight?”
I opened the app.
And froze.
$0.00
I blinked.
Refreshed.
Still zero.
A cold wave ran through me.
“No… no, no, no.”
Savings—zero.
Investments—zero.
Crypto—zero.
Everything.
Gone.
I grabbed my laptop, typing my password wrong twice because my hands wouldn’t stop shaking.
Dashboard.
Zero.
That’s when the messages started.
One after another.
“BRO CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT”
“WHAT IS HAPPENING??”
“I JUST LOST EVERYTHING”
I turned on the TV.
The news anchor looked like she’d seen a ghost.
“We are receiving global reports that all banking systems have reset—”
She paused.
“—every account appears to be at zero.”
The world had just gone broke.
I slowly looked back at my phone.
Another notification appeared.
No number.
No name.
Just a message.
“You’re the only one left.”
I swallowed.
Opened my banking app again.
And this time—
It wasn’t zero.
It was a number.
A massive number.
More money than I’d ever seen in my life.
My stomach dropped.
This wasn’t luck.
This was a target.
⚡ CHAPTER 2 — The Only Account Alive
I stared at the number.
It didn’t make sense.
Too many zeros.
I counted twice.
Then again.
Still the same.
“This… this has to be fake.”
I refreshed.
No change.
I logged out.
Back in.
Still there.
My phone buzzed again.
Unknown message.
“Do not tell anyone.”
I looked around my empty room like someone was watching.
“Who is this?” I whispered.
No reply.
Then my internet cut out.
Just like that.
Gone.
Wi-Fi dead.
Mobile data—nothing.
Silence.
The world outside wasn’t quiet anymore.
Sirens.
Car horns.
People shouting.
I walked to the window.
Chaos.
People running into the streets, yelling into phones that no longer worked.
A man across the road threw his laptop onto the pavement.
A woman sat on the curb, crying.
Everything had stopped.
Everything except me.
My phone buzzed again.
One last message.
“They’ll find you soon.”
⚡ CHAPTER 3 — First Knock
The knock came at 2:17 AM.
Three sharp hits.
Not random.
Not polite.
Precise.
I froze.
Another knock.
Louder.
“Open the door.”
A man’s voice.
Calm.
Too calm.
I didn’t move.
My heart was beating so loud I thought they could hear it.
“Final warning,” the voice said.
I stepped back slowly.
Another buzz on my phone.
“Don’t open it.”
I didn’t need convincing.
The handle rattled.
Hard.
They weren’t asking anymore.
They were coming in.
⚡ CHAPTER 4 — Run
The door shattered inward.
I didn’t wait.
I ran.
Through the back.
Down the stairs.
Barefoot.
Cold concrete.
No plan.
Just movement.
Behind me—
Boots.
Heavy.
Fast.
They were trained.
Not random thieves.
Not desperate people.
Something worse.
I burst into the street.
Chaos swallowed me.
And for the first time since midnight—
I realized something terrifying.
This wasn’t about money anymore.
This was about control.
And somehow…
I had all of it.
