Is it true sex reduces life span

No — normal sexual activity does not reduce lifespan. In fact, research generally shows the opposite: healthy sexual activity is often associated with better physical and mental health.

Studies have linked a healthy sex life with:

lower stress,

better sleep,

improved mood,

stronger relationships,

and sometimes better heart health.

That said, balance matters. Problems can arise if:

someone has unsafe sex,

severe addiction/compulsive behavior,

extreme physical overexertion with underlying heart disease,

or lack of sleep and poor lifestyle habits.

A common myth is that ejaculation or sex “drains life energy” permanently. There’s no strong scientific evidence that normal sexual activity shortens life expectancy.

What affects lifespan much more strongly are things like:

smoking,

alcohol/drug abuse,

chronic stress,

obesity,

poor diet,

lack of exercise,

and untreated medical conditions.

So in a healthy lifestyle, sex is generally considered a normal and beneficial part of life, not something that shortens it.
